Reward Offered for Items Stolen from Port Wentworth Church
Slide like this was stolen from church
(Port Wentworth, GA) It was supposed to be a fun "Back to School" bash at the First Baptist Church in Port Wentworth over the Labor Day holiday.? Now it's turned into a theft case with a reward.
Carolyn Butler from First Baptist Church says they rented a huge inflatable water slide and bouncy Moon Walk from Fun Time.? "We used them for a party Sunday and the children really enjoyed it," she told us.
But Monday morning, when Fun Time personnel came to pick up the items, they were gone.? "We had deflated them, but the slide was wet and together they probably weighed hundreds of pounds," Butler told us.
"We still can't believe someone stole these things," she said.
Now Fun Time is offering a $1,000 reward for information on the theft.? Paula Cates, one of the owners of Fun Time says "in 26 years something like this has never happened."
Cates told us the slide along probably weighed at least one thousand pounds. "It would have taken several people to move it," she said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Sergeant Holmes with the Port Wentworth Police Department at 912-964-4360
